Retail finance is definitely attractive to prospective customers

A finance product that works for them has left this small, family-run business smiling behind the camera.

Aaron and Debbie Gilpin set up their own photography studio, La Lumiere, in 2015, offering professional family portraiture in a fun, relaxing and creative, environment. From maternity shots and newborns, through to small family groups and large multi-generational shoots, their portraits capture the unique personalities of their clients to provide lasting memories.

With such a variety of prospective customers, Debbie and Aaron knew that being able to offer retail finance would be very beneficial to their business. “For a small business like ours, though, offering finance is not easy,” says Debbie. “It’s highly regulated, with lots of red tape to negotiate, but Ideal4Finance made all of that easy for us.”

They teamed up with Ideal4Finance in February 2022 and have been able to increase their sales, thanks to a fixed rate product which allows their customers to spread payments over three years. “A lot of our clients are families with young children, for whom being able to spread the cost is incredibly attractive, especially in the current economic climate,” says Debbie.

“The retail finance product we chose means monthly payments can be kept relatively low, which gives customers more freedom to purchase exactly what they want from us. So, for example, they may choose a larger wall portrait rather than a smaller desk frame.”

As a small business run by just the two of them, Debbie and Aaron have appreciated the support offered by the Ideal4Finance team, not just to themselves but also to their customers.

“Having finance is definitely attractive to our prospective customers and it has helped us with some sales that would otherwise not have been possible,” says Debbie.
