To mark National Apprenticeship Week, we’d like to celebrate the excellent contribution that apprentices make to our business. Our apprentices enjoy all the benefits of a paid job, whilst working towards a qualification or training goal to support their future career.
Accounts Apprentice, Sienna Lea, works with our Finance Manager and is involved in all aspects of the department, including invoices, purchase orders, reconciling accounts, using Xero, setting up payment schedules, weekly wages and payment allocations. One day a week she attends college to study towards her AAT level 2 Accounting qualification.
“I always knew I wanted a career in accountancy and this apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to do a real job alongside my studying,” says Sienna. “It’s the perfect way to really understand how a business operates.”
Rowan Chambers-Baxter is a Business Admin Apprentice, within our Relationship Management team. Rowan works in loans processing, guiding customers through their applications and conducting satisfaction calls. As well as developing strong communication skills and gaining valuable customer service experience, Rowan uses our CRM and other business systems to record data and update loan status reports.
“It’s great to be getting real experience in an actual job role, which I think will benefit me more in the long run,” says Rowan, who also attends college to develop her business administration knowledge and skills. “Dealing with customers has really helped me grow in confidence and I love the variety of the work.”
Ideal4Finance is delighted to be supporting the future development of young people. MD, Mark Heckels, says: “Apprenticeships offer an ideal route to a skilled workforce whilst also offering rewarding career opportunities for young people.
“It’s fantastic seeing how our apprentices develop into their roles and very quickly become vital members of our team.”
