Vacancy: Accounts Apprentice

We are seeking an Accounts Apprentice to join our busy financial services business in Kirkham, near Preston.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable accounts and administrative experience whilst working towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting).

Key duties and responsibilities

You will provide general support to the Accounts team, including:

  • Daily bank reconciliation within Xero
  • Allocating payments on our CRM system
  • Processing supplier invoices and raising customer invoices
  • Calculating and paying commission due to introducers
  • Importing all receipts and invoices into Xero via Receipt bank (Dext)
  • Setting up scheduled payments either via direct debit or recurring card payments
  • Dealing with incoming queries (telephone/e-mail) relating to accounts both internal and external
  • Handling petty cash transactions
  • Keeping up to date with filing and archiving
  • Monitoring and logging staff holidays
  • Calculating staff hours using our clocking-in machine
  • General office duties including answering the telephone

As you progress within the role, you will be given more tasks/responsibilities

What we need from you

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 5 – 9) Essential
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Trustworthy and professional manner
  • Great customer care skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated
  • Ability to use Excel and Word to a good standard would be an advantage
