We are looking for a self-motivated PHP developer to join the busy internal development team of our well-established, successful financial services business. This is a varied role in a lively, fast paced environment. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to learn, and a good knowledge and understanding of some, or all, of the following core technologies:
Core skills:
- PHP 7 MVC
- Knowledge of main design patterns with practical experience of implementing them
- Problem solving approach to tasks
- HTML5, CSS/SASS, Bootstrap
- JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
Desirable skills:
- Web Development Computer Science BSc or commercial experience, 1 year+
- Laminas (Zend Framework 3)
- Angular JS
- REST APIs
- Git version control
- Atlassian suite
- Automated testing

This role would suit a Web Development Computer Science graduate or PHP developer with one to two years commercial experience. Progression will be offered to full stack development in an Agile environment working with multiple CI/CD pipelines and services.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Assisting Lead Developer in migration and improvement of legacy systems
- Maintaining code quality standards within new and legacy projects
- Developing modules for stability, scalability and maintainability
- Collaborating with other developers, designers and testers
- Expanding TDD automated testing of new and legacy applications
