In this edition of Meet the Team, we’re introducing Gemma Thomas, our hard working and friendly Customer Service Advisor .
What do you do at ideal4Finance?
Customer service advisor, with a concentration on retail conversions.
Describe a typical day for you.
The day starts with a coffee (or two) to fuel the day. My mornings start with responding to emails and following up with clients, while handling incoming calls. My days are never the same, one moment I might be sharing a laugh with a customer the next I’m carefully managing a more difficult situation.
What keeps me motivated is the feeling of turning a negative experience into a positive one. Helping a frustrated customer find a solution and leaving the conversation happy is what makes my role rewarding!
What do you love most about your job?
I work with an amazing team, we are not only a team but more of a family. We have each others backs and can truly be ourselves without judgement. There is never a day when we don’t laugh or smile.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up I wanted to be a lot things. As a child I wanted to be forensic scientist. Previously, I was student midwife for 2 years. I enjoy a work environment where I am challenged and happy.
What keeps you busy/happy outside of work?
My family. I recently got married—it was the best day! I enjoy spending time with my daughter, son and stepson. We game, watch films, go on adventures; whatever we fancy at the time.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which three items would you want with you?
I’d bring something that played Spotify, music is life! And a spoon and axe.
And finally, what’s for lunch?
Tomato, mushroom and mince tortellini pasta. I batch cook since Genna pestered me to.
